IS420ESWBH3A The Ethernet switch works on the second layer of the OSI network reference model (i.e., the data link layer). It is a network device that implements Ethernet data frame forwarding based on MAC (Media Access Control) address recognition.
IS420ESWBH3A The sockets on a switch used to connect computers or other devices are called ports. The computer is connected to the switch port through a network cable through a network card. Each port of network cards, switches and routers has a MAC address, which is solidified in the EPROM of the device by the device manufacturer.
MAC is allocated by IEEE, and each MAC address is globally unique. The MAC address is a 48-bit binary number. The first 24 bits are the identifier of the device manufacturer, and the last 24 bits are the serial number assigned by the manufacturer.
